Gold Country

Love on a Leash®

The Gold Country chapter of Love on a Leash® was founded in January of 2013. We have regular visits at nursing homes, assisted living facilities, schools, and libraries in the greater Sacramento area. We always welcome invitations to visit local nursing homes, hospitals, libraries, and schools; we also attend community events such as Barktoberfest, college Stress-less events, local American Red Cross Crisis Shelters, SPCA educational programs, and the Sacramento Children’s Museums,  “Dogs with a Job.” Some teams enjoy volunteering at Kaiser and Shriners hospitals. Chapter members are always welcome to visit independently or suggest new facilities and events for our teams to enjoy.

Espresso

Meet Our Leader

Yvonne Telles became the chapter leader in November 2015. She has been certified with her Border Collie/Lab mix Espresso since August 2013. Yvonne is a pediatric healthcare provider; when she isn’t working or volunteering with Love on a Leash, she enjoys crafts, building projects, and walking her dogs. She and Espresso especially enjoy their visits to seniors and children, and Yvonne’s favorite part of volunteering with Love on a Leash is helping teams become certified and successful in their pet therapy journey. Yvonne really encourages teams to find their niche where both human and pet love visiting.
