Love on a Leash®

The Indy chapter of Love on a Leash was founded in November 2009. Our chapter coordinates many group visits each month at hospitals, nursing homes/senior living centers, elementary and high schools, the Indiana National Guard Armory, adult daycare centers, recovery centers, and college campuses in Indianapolis and surrounding areas. Some of our members visit sites independently as well.

Meet Our Leaders

Our chapter utilizes four members as a lead group. They are Mary Anne Schager (2017), Marilyn Baumgardt (2011), Debby Adams (2018), and Jill Maniakas (2013). Marilyn, Jill and Mary Anne are all retired teachers and Debby is enjoying an employment break to concentrate on LOAL visits. We all live in the Indianapolis area and meet every morning at the dog park at 7:15 am. Our chapter is currently welcoming many new members and we are so excited to see their fur babies grow into wonderful therapy pets! We all agree that our very favorite part of the Love on a Leash experience is the joy we see on peoples' faces when they meet and interact with our pets.
