Meet Our Leaders
Karen Naber has been a member of Love On a Leash since August 2012 and became the chapter leader in April of 2018. She has had three Therapy dogs – Tytan, Izzy and currently Howdy Naber, a setter/pointer mix. Karen and her husband live on a small farm in Boone County and enjoy taking care of their dogs, cats, horses, and donkeys. Howdy and Karen have their Advanced Therapy Degrees in Elderly: Social Visits and Children: Reading Programs. The BEST part of being a Love On A Leash member is walking into the door of a facility and seeing the smiles on everyone’s faces.
Sandy Pearson and Macey have been a Love on a Leash therapy team since January 2015; Sandy officially became chapter co-leader in June of 2021. Macey is a Black & Tan Cavalier King Charles Spaniel; she is loving, kind, patient, calm and wants to bring joy to everyone she meets. Sandy and her husband live in Fishers and are both retired; after retiring from her second career as a massage therapist, Sandy wanted to continue to provide stress relief, comfort and joy and Macey helps make that happen. Macey and Sandy have their Advanced Therapy Degrees in Elderly: Social Visits and Teenagers/College Students: Stress Relief.
