Northern Colorado

Love on a Leash®

The Northern Colorado chapter was founded in July 2024 and has members from Fort Collins to Greeley. The chapter coordinates a group visit each week at Union Colony Elementary School; members also visit other educational/learning facilities, libraries, and hospitals independently and a few teams visit Meadowview and Life Care nursing homes on a regular basis. The chapter members feel great joy in serving their communities and are passionate about making Colorado an even happier place to live. The Northern Colorado Chapter of LOAL respects and appreciates the excellence encouraged by LOAL and takes pride in demonstrating LOAL’s trademark professionalism and love.

Laurette & Dottie

Meet Our Leader

Laurette Hoagland originally certified with her Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Dottie, in San Diego in 2014 and relocated to Colorado in 2017. Dottie recently crossed the rainbow bridge after bringing joy to so many for ten years. Dottie loved mentoring new teams with LOAL and Laurette is continuing her legacy with another Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Sugarplum; they are happy to be working towards certification. Laurette lives in Greeley with her husband Bob, adult children and extended family. She is a retired Children's Pastor who is enjoying the fiber arts community in Colorado; when she is not weaving and spinning or volunteering with Love on a Leash, Laurette enjoys exploring her new home state. Her favorite part about volunteering with Love on a Leash is bringing comfort and joy to people and fulfillment to her teammates.
