South Central Indiana

Love on a Leash®

The South Central Indiana chapter was founded in January 2012. Chapter members are largely independent, visiting nursing homes, local hospitals, a veterans hospital, schools, a mental health facility, hospice, military facilities, a senior center, a domestic violence center, and a youth detention center in Columbus, Indiana and the surrounding counties. Since 2019, we have had a good showing in the Festival of Lights parade in December.

Cathy with Molly

Meet Our Leader

Cathy McMillan Hall has been a Love on a Leash member with her Miniature Schnauzer Molly since 2021 and became chapter leader in July 2024. Cathy is a graduate of Indiana University, spent many years in the travel industry and is now happily living a dog’s life in retirement. Cathy and Molly are very active visiting nursing homes, assisted living facilities, Hospice, at-risk youth, schools and youth programs and even de-stressing visits to nearby colleges, police departments and military bases. Bringing joy to those who are struggling or lonely emboldens Cathy’s (and Molly’s) passion for service. When not volunteering or mentoring teams in training, life is still all about the dogs. Cathy dog sits at her home, also known as Molly’s DogBNB, she & Molly compete in agility and FastCAT (lure chasing) and Molly is even a mentor for puppies at the training facility where she trained as a puppy. Cathy’s motto: Life is always an adventure, let’s make it a good one!
