Love on a Leash®

The South Central Kansas chapter of Love on a Leash was officially founded in August of 2017. We have regularly scheduled visits at many assisted living facilities and local nursing homes and welcome invitations to visit at hospitals, libraries, and schools, as well as special events in our communities. Many chapter members visit independently in addition to participating in group visits. We are a very active chapter with several members who schedule a wide variety of group visits.

Meet Our Leader

Leah Donley lives in Wichita with her husband and seven dogs and became a certified Love on a Leash therapy team with her Cavalier King Charles, Lincoln in 2017; she is still certified with him, as well as another King Charles, Sophie, and a Sheepadoodle, Ozzie. Leah especially enjoys visiting with Long Term Care, Memory Care and Hospice Residents, but also loves sharing her dogs anywhere they can bring joy to others. Leah works with her husband Mark, also a LOAL member, at his financial services office and loves spending time with her grandchildren and family. Her favorite part about volunteering with Love on a Leash is feeling like she's making a small difference in someone's life every time she goes on a visit.
