Love on a Leash®

The St. Tammany chapter of Love on a Leash was officially founded in November of 2011. We have regularly scheduled visits at St. Tammany Parish Hospital, Northlake Behavioral, Lacombe Library, Noah’s ARC, the Cancer Center in Covington, and many more. We also participate in Camp Bearable and other summer camps, and especially love serving our Veterans. Chapter members visit independently as well as participating in group visits at many hospitals, pediatric care units, schools, and assisted living facilities and we always welcome visit invitations.

Meet Our Leader

Rob Foley lives in Covington, and he and his wife have 8 children. He became a certified Love on a Leash therapy team with his Goldendoodle Sherlock in 2016. Rob and Sherlock enjoyed participating in the children's reading program at schools and visiting students on college campuses. Rob and Sherlock especially enjoyed visiting medical facilities. Unfortunately, Sherlock crossed the rainbow bridge in 2023, and Rob is now training his puppy, Jack, in hopes of certifying with him. Rob became chapter leader in January of 2020, just before COVID struck. Rob is a retired general contractor but continues to work in the construction industry as a bank inspector and provides litigation support in construction matters. His favorite part about volunteering with Love on a Leash is bringing comfort and joy to medical professionals as they work to heal others.
